I lost A Friend Through Suicide

An friend and colleague wished to leave the rat race he was fed up with his nine to five job the years of this same old routine got to him, there's tv programmes devoted to encouraging people to sell up and move to the country Bob my friend did just that he bought a home with fifteen acres of land in West Wales sadly Bob didn't know the rules Bob put his life's savings into this venture and to say it went pear shape is an understatement you cannot do that in Great Britain on Bob's fifteen acres he had three goats and nothing else the authorities confiscated his home with the fifteen acres because he had breached the rules insufficient cattle on his land Bob talked to me about his new home then the conversation turned very black he told me the authorities were giving him problems and that he had lost the lot and he would put a gun in his mouth sadly that's just what he did I blame Great Britain for Bob's death not so Great not such a good country to live in. Sorry if this story offends.

I feel for you. I lost a dear friend recently. His wife didn't want to be married anymore. Kicked him out and told him she would be awarded the house and a large chunk of his salary and despite him being a good gentle man slapped a restraining order on him and refused to allow him to see his kids. He felt there was nothing left in his life and sadly committed suicide. She will have to live with her selfish actions.

@Rhonda That's a very sad story I feel his wife/widow should be shamed, these people get away with murder.
Rhonda · F
@senghenydd I don't think she thought of the consequences of her actions, only of financial gain. Now it's too late.

@Rhonda A heartless thing to do some women are quite ruthless far more so than men (I've met some nasty women).

This is very sad but I don't think you can blame a country for a person's suicide.

In UK the suicide rate is 14.7; in the US it's 13.7; France 13.2, so it's almost the same everywhere.

@helenS Oh I do blame Great Britain guilty by me anyway, Britain took away Bob's life's savings, in old age he had lost all he had worked for all his life and decided he would end it.

@senghenydd I understand you - it's terrible.

senghenydd · M
@Voomis Yes I fully understand countries do fail their people.
