Hard part of letting go of someone who ghosts

Is just knowing and saying to myself "She doesn't want to be found." It's a big pill to swallow.

I had someone like that in my life. Dumped me by text. Luckily, it wasn't just me , she ended up ghosting her own circle of friends and eventually left the country altogether. I would check on her social media occasionally just to see how she was going, and it was pretty pitiful. One time over her birthday, she posted a link to a charity she was hoping people would donate instead of any birthday gifts, and nobody donated. I came across a blog she was writing overseas, a public blog that is ostensibly there to be "reminders to her future self" and its clear she hasn't been able to form connections with anyone, the posts are all about sticking to one's decisions no matter what anyone else says, or reminders that she is living god's plan and will be rewarded at some point in future.

The hardest part was that I already knew she was going to end up isolating herself years ago, tried to warn her even. Ah well, the truth is some people aren't meant to be happy, they will destroy their own chances of that.

@plungesponge Hm. Thanks that actually really helps. The crappy behavior I experienced is... Probably not me.

It can be hard at first, but once you know they aren’t genuine people, it becomes much easier.

That’s also a very wise realisation and peace of mind you have given yourself through acceptance

You’ll see differently in time
