I Pretend I'm Okay

College has been making me feel depressed. People ask how it's going and I respond with "it's great! I love it!" but I hated it, a lot.

So today, I did the unthinkable. I dropped out. Some people are annoyed, but there are a lot who support my decision. I want to feel happy again

I had to drop out last year due to my depression, I hope to come back this year but they keep making exscues not to have me back. Your happiness should always be put first before anything. You did what was best for you , a years break is gradually starting to help me even though I was upset when I couldn’t come back last year. You can always come back to college in the future when you feel ready not when everyone else wants you to. It’s your life and you know what’s best for you. You might have to pay I don’t know but you do in the uk if your 19 or over like I am but I wish you look on what ever you choose to do. Sending good positive vibes

@SW-User I hope they accept you back. It's not good to miss out on education you want. As for me, I won't be going back. I hate the place. Its free up here in Scotland. I'm not sure about the rest of the UK

College is a privilege where a lot of people don't have the opportunity to attend or cannot afford it. Was it living at college depressing? Was it a particular class? Are you a person who gets or has gotten depressed before? It'll be good to identify what in particular that depressed you for as the saying goes, "Wherever you go, there you are." College itself probably is not the source/cause of your depression.

@mrbuddhawannabe it was the cause. I and my councillor came to this conclusion after several months
