Panic disorder

Forgot to take my medication and had a panic attack. Anyone disassociate with there panic attacks? Not sure if thats what its called but last night I had a bad panic attack and everything felt fake and I didn't feel connected. I had to ground myself.. I looked at old photos,Squeezed my hands, thought of nice memories. The photos really helped. Ive had it before with my panic attacks just never realized that's what it was. I also heard holding and ice cube in your hand can help.. Really hard for me to remember what I was feeling that made me think I was dying and that nothing was real... It was almost like amnesia but I had all my memory. Just nothing felt like it looked right. Everything felt off/wrong Glad I could talk myself down without bugging someone to help me tho. I haven't ever been able to do that so I guess I'm proud of myself...

Forgot to take my medication last night too. Had anxiety attack in middle of night. Tried to sleep it through.

@SW-User I can't really remember how mine started I think I woke up and was just having one. I didn't realize I had forgotten to take my medication until the panic hit me / woke me up at 4 am. I just took my medication and tried to distract myself till it passed. Almost woke someone up a couple times because I was scared, but I really hate bothering people with my panic attacks because I feel after awhile it gets on there nerves and they don't understand them.

@EhhRin I understand. It doesn't feel good to ask help from someone at such a time. We think we can fight it off but it's really hard. Keep a reminder for yourself to take your pills. It'll work. I hope you are fine now. Hugs.

@SW-User Yeah I usually don't forget but that day was a busy day and It just slipped my mind, but I am going to set a reminder just in case. I am good now. Thanks! Hugs
