What are the thoughts that keep you awake at night? [I Am Sleepless Tonight]

Is it the future or the past that leaves you most restless.
The known or the unknown can both be equally worrisome.

Usually my loneliness, fear that I’m going to be alone forever, wondering what is wrong with me that I can’t find anyone who wants to be with me, even casually. So I guess a combination of sadness about the present and lack of hope for the future.

@summersong I remember that feeling of not knowing if and when my loneliness would ever end. It’s sad, and scary, and leaves you questioning almost everything about yourself.
How long has it been, if I may ask?

@Ghostinthemachine yeah it’s not fun. It’s been 3 years and I’m getting pretty convinced that it’s just not something I’m meant to have.

@summersong I’m not going to give you any advice, as I’m sure youve heard it all before, but I will say I’ve had single friends who were in similar situations, as have I. I couldn’t figure out why we were in that situation, it was as if women could sense the desperation on me. When I eventually stopped actively searching, and just focused on being myself, that’s when I would meet someone

@summersong I know a few women who were single for a lot longer than 3 years , then met guys and fell in love and are still together and happy years later. Maybe the same will happen to you
