I Can't Sleep

Lately I've been struggling to sleep, can anybody give me some ideas of anything that has worked for them? Sounds silly but I have listened to classical music and that isnt working.

Here are the things I've read that actually do work.

1. Melatonin (not habit-forming, no addiction, no dependency. It's just more of what your brain makes naturally.)
2. No coffee, tea, soda or chocolate 3 hrs before bed. (no caffeine)
3. Make your own going to sleep routine. We are creatures of habit, and bedtime is no exception.

1) I have crackers with warm milk (use vanilla/cinnamon/sugar as you choose)
2) I shower
3) i turn down the heat (and put a glass of water beside the bed)
4) I get into bed
5) I don't look at computer, phone screen or TV for an hour before bed (might be something interesting that keeps you awake)
6) I listen to whatever RELAXES me - calming music, bird song, ocean, forest, whatever)
7) Get up at the same time, go to bed at the same time

If that doesn't help, see a sleep specialist. Until I was nearly 50, I thought I was just a lousy sleeper. Turned out I was lousy at breathing while I slept and woke up several times a minute to breathe - I was totally unaware of it.

Read this comment every night before turning out the lights. Print it out and keep it in the night table drawer. That oughta make you drowsy.
