I lost you 2 years ago today

It's an hour and a half past midnight and the calendar hits another day. This day however will be full melancholy. I miss you in my life.
It feels like yesterday we were together and yet too many years ago as well. I remember walking the canal path and holding hands. We looked with amazement at the huge freight locomotives sitting in the train yard as we walked to the car. We drove the dirt road across the tracks and discovered the towns river beach and camp ground we didn't know existed. We did so much exploring our surrounding area together and you enjoyed the sights and scenery of every trip. We both enjoyed life as we never had before we met. 11 years together we were gifted and the realization there is such a thing as soul mates.

Never forgotten.
Life without you is no life at all.

So sorry for your loss, yet still you're gifted by the wonderful experience of a soulmate

@Amy2005 thank you yes we both felt very lucky to have met the way we did.
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon i understand, I'd like to have that some day
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Amy2005 it took both of us two bad long relationships to cross paths.
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon so i'm halfway ;)

@Amy2005 I knew in my gut the second one was trouble in the making but still went in to it. Don't make the same mistake you may not have to wait
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon but how do u know it's a mistake?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Amy2005 in my case I was going into damaged goods. The writing was on the wall and I ignored it. It cost me emotionally and financially. You have to listen to your gut
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon i understand what u mean, but who isn't damaged? And who can't be fixed?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Amy2005 you have to get that thought out of your head. People especially guys can't be fixed. So many make that mistake. Take them for who they are. Trying to change them is an exercise in futility.
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon perhaps ur right, but it's hard to tell sometimes
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Amy2005 Use your instincts. You can tell when someone is genuine you just have to not become so enamored you can't see the truth in front of you
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon I'll promise I'll try, can't promise I'll succeed I'm afraid
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Amy2005 given your age the first bad one shouldn't count to much. My first girlfriend had me very lost and depressed when we broke up but I eventually realized she was cheating on me and then I got angry which set my mind straight. My two bad ones each lasted about 14 years.
Amy2005 · 18-21, F
@Gibbon such hard lessons..
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Amy2005 I believe good relationships happen on their own. They can't be sought out or forced.
