July 19th feels like yesterday...

It's the little things.
A box was thrown in the middle of my living room to be disposed of soon, it was the perfect size for her to play in.
A fly got in through the door, she would've loved to have chased it down.
The air cooled enough for me to need to use a blanket, it felt lighter than it did when she was around to lie there on it.
I have to keep in mind, she was 19, it was her time.

I miss her.

@JohnnyNoir Thanks

@minxy 19 is a good run for a cat. My tuxedo is at least 14. I try and cherish every moment I can with him

@JohnnyNoir Oh yes, it's why there's part of me that is just fine with it, she's peacefully without "old age" pain now. 14 was about when I did the same with her, would weigh out if each thing i was doing was more important than her (giving attention,etc).

@JohnnyNoir They are quite the characters, I've always felt they are a breed, not just a fur color.

@minxy I got him from the shelter in 2010. Never had a pet live this long. He's still very active, loves to lay outside in the sun. I pretty much let him have his way
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy I have 2, both rescues.
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir That is a long stretch, 14 years. Aww, little heat vampire. Oh yes, Jaeger had me wrapped around her paw too.
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir Aww, so freakin' adorable!
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy As frustrating as they can be, you still have to love them
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir They're damn good at putting on the cute to remind you how much you love them.
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy manipulative creatures, they know what they're doing. Aloof when it suits them, and all over you at the worst possible times it seems
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir that describes them to a T.
they also understand every word you're saying, they know.
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy oh yes they do. I was telling him to get off of my TV table a little while ago. He just stood there looking at me. His eyes said...no I'm not
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir Yep! Exactly.
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir Jaeger would threaten to knock over the trash can, I'd tell her to stop. She'd put her paw on the edge with a look of.."Try me"
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy they test you. It's their nature
minxy · 46-50, F
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy Still, it's a great feeling when they curl up with you and begin purring.
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir It really is. Yes, it really is. It's like medicine.
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy never fails to relax me. It's a great connection to have with an animal. Not as good as another person obviously but it's good
minxy · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir it's the second best, i feel.
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
@minxy Yep
