Is no motivations part of grief?

Have you felt like it’s hard to do things since your loved one died?
I remember when one of my college best friends passed away unexpectedly back in February 2014 and we were all deceased. It was difficult to move on and I would stuff myself with junk food, cry and watch YouTube videos after my college class. Then for a while I realized what I was doing and gained all the weight back I’ve lost (from 189lbs to 220 I think. Some people say I didn’t need to lose weight and don’t agree with my weight loss since I’m a “tall girl (5’9 ish)” but that’s not important right now.
My mom passed on Monday and I find myself unmotivated but I keep working out anyways. That’s what my mom would have wanted and for me to keep going. I don’t wanna make the same mistake by gaining weight and I don’t wanna do the opposite by not eating and becoming anorexic which won’t happen.
Having no motivation can absolutely be part of grief. I'm so sorry about your mom's passing. 💜

I think it's very good that you're continuing your workouts. That should help. I also think it would be good if you had loved ones you can share your feelings with. I hope you do.
Yeah that's normal unfortunately. It's one of the most disruptive and depressing things you can experience
@DarlingSelah yeah fucking hurts. I know I need to be motivated, but I don’t wanna make the same mistake by gaining weight and being depressed. Gotta keep moving.

There's always motivation for more Grimace shakes.

Slowly and gradually you wil come out of it. Don’t be hard on yourself.
It can be a marker of grief or depression.
