My neighbor is in permanent mourning. She lost both of her parents over 20 years ago and is still grieving as if she has unfinished business with them

@SW-User Of course she has unfinished business. But she needs to try to let it fade, not away but into the background. My wife died almost five years ago and I think of her every day. I try to not dwell on regret too much, but it's hard to avoid. But I'm not in mourning any more.

@ninalanyon Yes, she knows this but it is all subliminal. You just have to hope she will keep it in her heart and not so much as a subject to talk about

@SW-User Ah, I see what you mean. I only mention my wife when the conversation demands it; such as when someone compliments me on a dress and asks where I got from, then I answer that I inherited it from my late wife. It's important to me to credit her because much of my style is down to her.
