My wife put a selfie featuring her outfit from Sunday on Facebook and some girl said that it looked like ‘the early 2000’s had thrown up all over her’. Loads of people put laughing or thumbs up emojis. Horrid.
People think the internet is like television and you can just say whatever but it's not. Often times a living, feeling human being is on the receiving end.
Yes, it was a person from school that made the original comment. She’s not a friend of ours though, we don’t really get on. Other people joined in and it became a big thing. Some people did make some nice comments but they were drowned out by the negativity. @MrSmartyPants
from what I have seen and understood of her, those other people have no clue of fashion or personal expression through clothes. I can understand she's feeling strange about it but she on the contrary should become through it more brave and bold to support what she likes!
@Strongtea I just speak my truth, I remember having seen a picture of hers and yes I did think, that's so 90's - but I also thought - that's so cool and she has her way of making it her own and that's what fashion is about..
Ah cool! That’s really nice, she does like some 90’s stuff as she has quite a few older cousins and aunties that were around then who’ve shown her photos. I think she’s put together a really cool style. @Boeing
You care entirely too much what people think. I KNOW it's hard to stop, but i promise, i PROMISE little by little life will be so much better and happier once you free yourself from it. it cripples people.🥺 if you love her and you think she looked amazing, it doesn't matter what they said, period.
@Strongtea You're only human and it's not something to beat yourself up for. But people who say horrible things about others aren't exactly the happiest either which is something to consider when you read those things they say. Happy, well adjusted wonderful people with great lives and business of their own to attend to do not sit online and trash others for no reason. They are NOT in a better position than you.
Thanks for all this, your words are much appreciated, although it hurts a lot to be the butt of everyone’s joke, you are making me see that they are likely unhappy too. @DancingStarGoddess
I know how they can be, they don’t care about my wife’s feelings at all. They were quite happy to openly laugh at what she was wearing and ruin her reputation as a local stylish person all because she said some bad stuff to them in school years ago. @GoFish
