I inspire confidence in who she is and the importance of the values she holds. She also attends judo classes.
@SunshineGirl No bullies in Judo classes ?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@in10RjFox Not in my daughter's class. And participation is conditional upon good behaviour at school.
@SunshineGirl you mean no judo training for those with bad behaviour?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@in10RjFox That's right. It is a very strong incentive.

@SunshineGirl Martial arts training is great but judo is based on contact. It has a lot of defensive flaws. All arts have inherent flaws. She should add a striking art to round out her skill set if she enjoys it.
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@Adogslife Martial arts CAN help, but typically bulllying is more verbal than physical.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@HoeBag That may be true for women. Men are typically more physical. I raised two daughters, but neither was bullied so I’d have to plead ignorance there.

@Adogslife I guess if any young person, male or female, is a good fighter, most bullies would rather not risk an 4ss k*cking.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@HoeBag A bully’s biggest fear is probably embarrassment…
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Adogslife Engaging anyone in aggressive contact is probably the biggest flaw of all. Judo does not suddenly make her bigger or stronger than a fully grown man. It does however keep her physically and mentally fit, confident in her own abilities, and out of trouble at school. Which is the whole point. And it is fun as well.

@SunshineGirl That’s a really smart answer and 100% true. Plus, I think confidence building is particularly important for young women. They face unique challenges.
