how do you cope with daily 'noise' in the environment around you

i have severe anxiety and a nervous disposition i try to cope with, dealt with it a long time now....i mainly live as a shut in now, but even in my apartment i feel panicked at times about daily noises around me in my environment...whether it's people shouting loudly outside, men / lads shouting loudly......men coughing loudly and aggressively outside.....dogs who bark all the time, noises, banging in my apartment block around me....loud music playing ( especially rap which i hate)....cars outside speeding and revving their engines loudly.

all these daily noises startle me and make me feel 'on edge'...especially having a nervous condition like me.

it's even worse when i know i have to go out somewhere to be around these noises.

how do you cope?

I live in the suburbs close to an international airport and railways. Noise in the background becomes second nature.

I also have a cabin in the north woods, no traffic, no airplanes, no railroads. Yet the woods are filled with other noises. The first few nights are disconcerting too quiet, then you hear the critter sounds and winds through the trees.

I adapt. They are all part of the environment I live in. I don't fight it but appreciate it for what it is.
