When we’re told in direct and indirect ways that knowledge is power without tempering the scale and rapidity of incoming info, it’s going to reinforce existing traumas and develop new trauma as well. It’s become such a wide spread issue and accounts for the ‘ blank stare’ some have written about observing millennials. But it’s not just them, it’s affects all age groups. It’s insidious how it takes one blindly into its vast networks without catching how much is jeopardized then trying to figure out what happened. With how the consequences have shaped one’s lives and not in the best of ways.
The long to the short: catch yourself in how your phone time affects your body, your head overtime. Do you feel less awake, more sleepy, more ‘checked out’, less ‘with it’, catching yourself being more ‘floaty’ less able to- or more agitated to read through anything, find self reaching for shorter material to read/digest?
The effects cause things like neurodivergence to occur such as ADHD after extended periods of time using but subjected to them. Do your own homework on this see what you come up with.
These are some of the effects caused due to prolonged use of our devices. Not only that, but also how with each update our devices receives, we become more connected to dark web ‘internet of things’ networks that do in fact, cause the above symptoms to occur.

Adjusting how you browse and sift through data streams, meaning you notice how you jump around from one app to the next to your browser, to your notes, your text messages….Its very costly. Limiting it will help. Better if we could go back to paper and pen but switching between device and physical things will help.
