This has bothered me for so long.

Why do i struggle so much dealing with other people's silence? I get anxious when there is deafening silence between me and an individual. It's as if i have the burden to break the silence and try to speak with the person so they don't think I'm mad or something. Is this somewhat a trauma response?

@YoMomma not purposely. I guess, as a child, silent treatment was given as a punishment. So im not really good at dealing with it even as a full grown adult?

@ThinkQuick oh sorry .. wow giving silent treatment to a kid? Who does that? My grandma locked us in the basement once.. i haven't forgotten it even tho i was just 5 or so..

@YoMomma im sorry you had to go through that. :( I hope as adults, we can break the cycle and not pass the same trauma to the next generation.

@ThinkQuick i thought she did it to keep us away from their friends but my aunt told me it's a satanic/masonic ceremony 😒 who knows.. 😳 (my mom's dad was in the masons)
