Thanotophobia.

So I was reading about the names of different phobias. And came across Thanotophobia. Death Fear... When I was in grade school I started having panic attacks and high anxiety. I was sure my mom was going to die. There was no reason for this. And no one believed I could feel that way. When she died at age 54, a lot of my anxiety went down. Not gone for good, but bet better than when she was alive.

I've been on panic and anxiety meds from the age of 21. I'm still on them. I've never feared my own death, but I don't know why it was only for my mom. ( She died at the age I am now).

It is a good term for it, but, and I'm saying this as someone with it. Do you perhaps have OCD? Because with OCD, death fears are common.

@melissa001 it sounds like it though, all I'm saying. I have a Death Obsession and I have OCD. I used to panic my loved ones would die all the time, including when they weren't even ill or in danger. Panic attacks galore and couldn't get it out of my head.

@basilfawlty89 thank you for sharing with me though. Right now I have panic attacks , separation anxiety and depression. But I have learned to stay away from situations that trigger them.

@basilfawlty89 I only felt that way with my Mom. And I'm more intrigued about death and not afraid of it.

I might ask at my next appointment about OCD.
