Dying My Hair

I love dying my hair! I've been going grey since I was 14 and I love changing up the colours.

However every single time I decide I want to do it, either myself or go to a hair dressers I get severely worried that I'm going to have an allergic reaction and die.

I do the allergy test every time, but this time I did it three time before I could convince myself that I would be OK. The anxiety was made worse by a recent news story about a woman whose face became completely swollen after dying her hair.

I went through with it and it looks good but I know next time it will be exactly the same....it's so frustrating, my anxiety affects every aspect of my life
and nothing I have done (meds, cbt, hypnotherapy, acupuncture etc) has worked to help reduce it.

I have anxiety as well. It really can derail your life. Have you tried psychedelics?

@Dolimyte yeah, had too many hallucinations and made me paranoid. Can't even have edibles as I react badly to them. Cbd oil helped a little bit but its way too expensive for the small amount of difference it was making and I can't get it via gp. Do psychedelics work for you?

@AquaTofana they do, but it's not a miracle cure. You need to be in the right headspace before you have a trip, and a trip-sitter is always a good idea. Avoid cannabis while tripping, the paranoia intensifies and mixes poorly with hallucinations. I hear good things about micro dosing, but I haven't had enough to try it for any length of time.

@Dolimyte my problem I think is that because I have MS, my brain doesn't work properly anyway so things that are supposed to help just don't anymore. I'm glad they help you, it cam take so long to find something that does.

@AquaTofana I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that you find something that helps you too.
