Dying My Hair

I love dying my hair! I've been going grey since I was 14 and I love changing up the colours.

However every single time I decide I want to do it, either myself or go to a hair dressers I get severely worried that I'm going to have an allergic reaction and die.

I do the allergy test every time, but this time I did it three time before I could convince myself that I would be OK. The anxiety was made worse by a recent news story about a woman whose face became completely swollen after dying her hair.

I went through with it and it looks good but I know next time it will be exactly the same....it's so frustrating, my anxiety affects every aspect of my life
and nothing I have done (meds, cbt, hypnotherapy, acupuncture etc) has worked to help reduce it.

Maybe take antihistamines before you go ?

Even if it's psychosomatic , it's a precaution against an allergic reaction .
So it might help alleviate 'some anxiety.

@BoobooSnafu I know, it's a violet colour right now, last time it was red and blue but I leave it too long between dyes and so it grows out, and you can see the grey and it makes me look a lot older then I because it's not even a nice grey lol my mind just doesn't like to accept that nothing will happen, no matter how many times I do it.

I'm going grey myself ....and it's such a nothing yuck colour on its own .

At least you're inspired to experiment.
Some never do , and stay the same colour every day of their adult life 🤷‍♀️
