I Have Anxiety

Yes, it keeps coming back. It probably won’t go away and leave me alone forever.

One word: magnesium.

Find a product called Calm (powdered magnesium citrate) and take as directed on the bottle. Do not exceed 500 mg/day without a doctor's OK. Expect a certain amount of GI "upset (read: the shits)" for the first couple of days.

I'm not a doctor, but I've suffered from GAD/panick attacks, and have researched the subject extensively.

@Theseus I've also reseached the subject and took magnesium for a very long time and it does work. I need to get back into the habit thanks for the reminder.

@Theseus Somebody did recommend magnesium citrate soft gel capsules. They did help on a couple of occasions.

@Mguinm These days my anxiety stems almost exclusively from "heart palpitations (PAC's)" resulting from a VERY bad reaction to Cipro. I went to FIVE different doctors (three of whom were cardiologists) in as many years to find a solution--to no result. I finally took matters into my own hands. I now take close to a gram of Mg a day. My heart's steady as a rock, and I have to try to be anxious about anything. 😊

@SmartKat You have to take it regularly...and religiously. Your body has to become "accustomed" or "habituated." I think you'll find over time that anxiety will become a thing of the past, but it won't happen overnight.

A couple of other suggestions; don't take, or slowly wean yourself off of, "anxiety" meds. They work, but at a huge cost in side effects and money. (If you're already taking them, DO NOT stop taking them all at once, and consult with your physician FIRST!)

Additionally, find a probiotic that works for you and take it regularly. Axiety STARTS in the gut.

@SmartKat You're welcome. Discussions like this are why I'm here.

@Theseus I have heart palpitations also. Cipro I remember having a bad reaction to that myself. Glad the magnesium counteracts that.
