Do you feel that humans are evolving to become antisocial? All my neighbors seem shy of one another, nobody talks to each other here.

Torsten · 36-40, M
we are going backwards and not evolving at all
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Torsten “our species is devolving like the opposite X-Men. “ lol
(Hat tip to my buddy Rich)

@AthrillatheHunt haha exactly and we only have ourselves to blame with how children are raised and what they are being taught in schools

Yeah.
People find sociable people weird these days

You just never know when the red hats signs shirts and bumper stickers are coming out so it’s safer to avoid people.

Three neighboring apartments gave me Christmas presents out of the blue. It isn't true where I live.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
Yes. It’s worse than ever. People hate each other just for holding different opinions and beliefs.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
I'm the same way. I just give up on social with others because you never know it's a waste of time. Emotions starts to kick in and you're stuck. Yes I been there from EP. The quick fix is to limit yourself. Especially in the real world. I think we all seen changes and taking time to develop to do something else and have no time to talk.
Yes, especially in cities.

Iphones and other like gadgets are playing a big role in the rise of people who cannot hold a face to face discussion.. Parents should delay giving their kids such devices for as long as they can..
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
I wouldn’t know. I’ve lost touch with all of my friends and I never have really talked to my neighbors, so I don’t know anyone to base an answer on 😅
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Depending on where you live ,I suppose.
There are some real creeps in some neighborhoods and you have to be careful I'm afraid these days

I feel like that's self preservation given the high octane emotional hatred that people can aim at complete strangers these days
I think the combination of Donald Trump’s four years and the divisiveness and distrust that he encouraged along with the later restrictions brought on by the pandemic made a huge difference in how people have been interacting.

Do you live in a small town or a big city?
ElmerWilks · 36-40, M
@Fluffybull somewhat small.
Fluffybull · F
@ElmerWilks Villages and small towns are usually more friendly and more trusting than large cities, in general. Maybe people are still recovering from 2 years of lockdowns etc and general stress. 😥
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
The internet and Covid aren’t helping our socialization skills at all.
ravenhill · 46-50, M
i wouldn't know.
