I’ve had no energy lately. I put off cooking a dish over the weekend and yesterday because I’ve just been tired. So mid-day today, I was determined. I started preparing the ingredients, chopped up what was needed, mise en place set aside and refrigerated.
And now I’m too freaking tired to cook it all !
I may have a cup of coffee and try again later.

This aging thing is a whole new set of rules. Different body, different energy levels, different sleep, different processing of food etc... Its like you need to learn to live to a whole new set of rules your body didn't know was coming ....and the mind has to unjumble it all, and reprogram itself.
I dont even cook 'dishes' any more. I may cook a steak, or have a salad, or make dessert, but its only ever one thing at a time .
If it takes more than 20 - 30 minutes, fuck that. I ain't got time or the energy to waste fluffing about with all that.
@OogieBoogie You know, I actually forget that sometimes. I’m a senior. When my grandparents were my age, they went to bed early. I’ve been trying to make myself go to bed before midnight, but it’s a hard habit to break.
@bijouxbroussard to my shame, im in bed by 9 or 10. And i used to be a habitual night owl.
Im up at 4:30 am for work - a time i once reserved for weird fitness fanatics and "old people"😏
I never said id 'be like this' - but here i am .
I eat weird now. I have simple meals, usually one food type at a time - but it suits me. Complex meals are too much, too big and too uncomfortable.
I think there's a reason we change our habits - we need to . If we listen to what our changing body needs, coincidentally - it needs change that suits it.
I forget too. Being over 50 is not natural for me😂
@bijouxbroussard The problem with going to bed early is you find yourself waking at 3 or 4 in the damn morning. Don't ask me how I know this................🥴
