This is so pitiful…

I’ve had no energy lately. I put off cooking a dish over the weekend and yesterday because I’ve just been tired. So mid-day today, I was determined. I started preparing the ingredients, chopped up what was needed, mise en place set aside and refrigerated.

And now I’m too freaking tired to cook it all !

I may have a cup of coffee and try again later.

I too suffer from lack of energy, which is one of the reasons I am so often on SW at the moment because I can't do a lot else. Exploring with the doc what's going on, but you have my sympathy as I want to do so much each day and just can't summon up the resource to do it. Good illustration 😊

When I get that way, it’s the thyroid, anemia, or depression so my first thought is to hope you get checked out if this goes on too long. Beyond that, the weight of the world is pretty heavy right now and I’ve seen a number of people say they’re struggling with energy and motivation with all this going on. Be kind to yourself. 💕🙂
I don't mean to sound preachy but coffee can actually suck B vitamins out of you and leave you feeling drained. Do you have Berocca over there I swear by them for an energy boost...big vitamin B hit!!
@metaldog@bijouxbroussard I just had one, was pretty drained out as well. Are you having trouble sleeping, Bijoux?
@EarthlingWise Yes, I do often have insomnia.
@metaldog I looked it up. Berocca doesn’t seem to be in the drugstores near me, but it is available on Amazon, so I may check it out.
Well, is it tho ?

This aging thing is a whole new set of rules.
Different body, different energy levels, different sleep, different processing of food etc...
Its like you need to learn to live to a whole new set of rules your body didn't know was coming ....and the mind has to unjumble it all, and reprogram itself.

I dont even cook 'dishes' any more. I may cook a steak, or have a salad, or make dessert, but its only ever one thing at a time .

If it takes more than 20 - 30 minutes, fuck that.
I ain't got time or the energy to waste fluffing about with all that.

@bijouxbroussard The problem with going to bed early is you find yourself waking at 3 or 4 in the damn morning. Don't ask me how I know this................🥴
@bowman81 That’s so true !

any type of appointments take an inordinate amount of energy from me and throws my day off!
I just go with the flow and take the unexpected naps.

At least you're prepped for the next part now. Sometimes things must be done in stages.

Blowing a second wind your way 🌬
I’m just impressed that you said mise en place. 👍

It’s happening to me too and everyone I associate with. It’s a natural reaction to current events.

What's going on?
@Elisbch no that's the last thing you should do when you're tired and drained!!

Coffee is very relaxing for me. I never drink it if I can't sit and enjoy it without having to rush thru it. If I don't have all the time I want for it, I don't make it until I do. It doesn't keep me awake or prevent me from sleeping well either. In fact it's the exact opposite. I often have one at night maybe about an hour to a half hour before I go to bed. A nice end to a day. I think it's marvelous we're not all the same. 😊👍🏻☕
