Where I go wrong Lady Grace is that I strive for perfection. I know in life that's your aim but where I go wrong my idea of perfection and perfection around is just another illusion .
I like when you talk about falling 7 times and sometimes healing has to get worse before it gets better .
A wise man said to me years ago " Life is a journey not a destination" that's the illusion I have especially with my mental state of mind that I'll end up in a place in my mind we're there's total peace but that's not the case but what I can say forget about my mental state of mind but what I can say is that I have inner peace most of the time even when I'm not too good in myself if that makes sense since I started to tap into the spiritual part of life and at times tapping into the spiritual part of life with me can be dangerous cause I'd always want to peace in my mind and that's not the case with life .
I didn't talk too you in a long time lady grace .
I hope your good . Paddy

@riseofthemachine Paddy, it's good to hear from you again! I'm glad you've shared what's on your heart, because I think you've touched on something very important that many people struggle with. So I really appreciate your contribution to this post
You said you strive for perfection, hoping to reach a place where your mind is finally at complete peace. But Paddy, what if the answer isn't to keep striving for that perfect place, but to learn how to live peacefully even when life and your thoughts aren't perfect?
Let me share a few things that may help you.
First, it would be very helpful to you, if you would measuring your progress by how peaceful you feel every day. Some days will be harder than others, but that doesn't mean you've failed. When you have a difficult day, instead of asking yourself, "Why am I not better yet?" try asking, "What can I do today, to take one small step in the right direction?" You don't have to solve your whole life today.
Second, learn to recognize when you're striving for something you cannot control. You cannot force every thought to disappear, make every problem resolve itself, or guarantee that tomorrow will be easier. But you can choose what you do next. When your mind feels overwhelmed, slow down, take a few gentle breaths, step away from whatever is upsetting you, and focus on one simple thing you can do right now. You don't have to fight every thought, or figure everything out at once.
Third, be honest with yourself about what is keeping you from finding peace. Are there relationships that keep hurting you? Habits that are making life harder? Things from your past that you haven't worked through? You don't have to judge yourself, but you do need to be willing to look honestly at your life. If something is hurting you, take a small step toward addressing it. And if your struggles with your mental health feel overwhelming or keep interfering with your life, speaking with a qualified counselor is a sign of wisdom, not weakness. There are times when I have had to go to a counselor and friend there's no shame in that.
But Paddy, I want to share something even more important with you.
You mentioned discovering the spiritual side of life. I'm glad you're searching, but I want you to know that you don't have to search endlessly for some special state of mind where everything finally feels right. Jesus said Come Just As You Are. We don't have to beg. He already loves us and accepts us for who we are.
The peace Jesus offers, isn't a promise that we will never struggle. But he did promise to hold us through it, comfort us, and also give us the strength to get through it. It's the opportunity to know Him personally and trust Him right in the middle of our struggles.
Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28, KJV.
Notice that He didn't say you must get yourself together first. He invited the weary and burdened to come to Him just as they were.
If you're willing, begin by talking honestly to Jesus. You don't need fancy words. Tell Him what you're struggling with, what you're afraid of, and how tired you are of trying to get everything right. Ask Him to show you who He is and help you understand the truth. Read a little of the Gospel of John and pay attention to what Jesus says about Himself, His love, and the life He offers.
And remember this, Paddy: you don't have to become perfect to begin moving forward. You don't have to understand everything before you take the next step. Life is a journey, yes, but you don't have to walk it alone. The goal isn't to reach a place where you never struggle again. It's to learn what is true, make healthier choices, grow through your struggles, and discover the One who can give you hope beyond what you can find within yourself.
I'm glad you've reached out again, Paddy. Keep searching for truth, and don't give up on yourself just because the journey isn't as straight or as peaceful as you hoped it would be. ❤ Jesus said seek and ye shall find. I know that to be very true. That's what I did. I just let go and let God take care of things and he met me in the midst of my hurt and Rescued Me. The same he'll do for anyone. ♥🤗

Healing isn't a straight line.
Neither is grief.
According to all the things I've heard of and read about, grief doesn't always happen immediately, nor does it move in a straight line. Also, grief isn't just limited to the loss of a loved one.
It's oftentimes been said that there are five stages of grief -- those being denial, bargaining, anger, depression and finally, acceptance.
As linear as that may seem in writing, the very experience of grief itself varies from one individual to another.
While in some cases, there are those who go through the aforementioned stages of grief sequentially, there are instances of those who go right past the point of denial, bouncing back-and-forth between bargaining, anger and depression while being nowhere near reaching acceptance.
And in some cases, there are those who go right to acceptance while bypassing the first four stages entirely.

Understood sis. I sometimes lack of patience even I have to do one thing after another. I've asking the lord to heal us during those dark times.
Thank you so much Lady Grace
I do struggle to know the line between not being a doormat and overstepping into a hostile attitude
Part of it is self protection
Never having had many friends I can trust
And part of it is frustration and contempt for the modern sensibilities
This constant toxic poison that seems to pervade much of online discourse
You are a refreshing breath of fresh air in this world
I do ask God to keep shaping me and defining me to his will
I know I've changed my opinion on a lot of things that I we adamant about in the past
I believe that is God gently guiding my heart
This, and a lot of what you write, is a reninder not to be constantly beating myself up
God's mercy through Jesus Christ is meant to be a beautiful thing
It would be too bad if I missed out on the full experience of that because I felt unworthy
May God give me grace and shape me in his will to grow in Christ
