Interaction disruptions are not a sign of social anxiety...
Just because I may have trouble interacting with people from time to time, that doesn't mean I am dealing with a light version of social anxiety. But I need to make sure I am not getting caught up over semantics that people are using to try to trip me up.
So, I need to lock-in because I don't want some awkward "interaction disruptions," I guess we can call them, to become my identity. I have been pushing myself into more social situations with mixed results but mostly it does take that push because, surprisingly, I'm just not that good interacting with others in uncontrolled circumstances. So, the more I do it, the better I will become. And that's my plan so that I don't find myself in this same situation 10 years from now... or 5 years or even 1.
