Twelve years ago today I had my last drink. Now I wonder, was it even worth it?

I feel the same way about my heavy drinking phase. I lost so much time and so many friendships. For all the fun it seemed at the time, it definitely doesn't seem worth it now.

Well done! January 4th will be 11 years since I smoked my last cigarette, definitely worth it.

Yes why are you questioning that now? You know theres no such thing as a dabble after addiction right? The here n there will have a gap that.ll close into another full blown relapse. Be careful with those thoughts dude.

@Perry1968 Thank you.

@HowtoDestroyAngels Stay strong mate. Its hard to motivate at times. I literally got to prize myself to get out even for a walk sometimes 😆 But once i have im buzzing from the exercise.

Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@HowtoDestroyAngels Yes, but it will pass.
Why are you questioning that now after 12 years?
@HowtoDestroyAngels Guess a lot depends on the reason you quit. I had a couple drunken nights in college that I decided I never wanted to repeat. I didn't quit, but have gone weeks between drinks at times since and I've not been drunk in over 40 yrs. I've never felt I missed anything worth the risk a drunken night can bring, so was a bit curious.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
@Perry1968 I don't plan on drinking.
Perry1968 · M
@HowtoDestroyAngels Good. And its not my buisness. They just sounded like words of regret. That dont usually end well.
