Not gonna lie

It was kind of traumatizing watching someone have a melt down about transpeople on my post.

I mean, I'm sorry they got to that point. I feel bad for them that they have made themselves feel so deeply about wrong information that they actually had what was a break.

I feel badly that the discussion led them there. I'm also somewhat traumatized seeing what happens to people when they are countered with logic and they can't process it.

I don't think I have ever been in that situation before.

Even though I blocked them, I hope they are okay. I hope they are resting and taking some deep breaths to ground themselves again.

While I don't know the exact context of this, "transphobe brain rot" is for sure a thing. Look what happened to JK Rowling. It becomes their obsession, all they can talk about, and it can ruin their image, career, and relationships, but they see that as further proof that they're right. Not saying that's what will happen to this person, who knows, but it can happen, even if you try to discuss things calmly and logically.

SW can give you a healthy dose of wtf at times, and there's people like that walking among us for sure. They just don't have the comfort level to show it in person that they do behind a screen.

You're never the same after you witness some people's inner tantrums.

A 50 year old woman traumatized after seeing words on a screen.
That’s enough internet for today

@DyingDaily I'm sorry caring for other people is the height of crazy on the internet for you. Seems like something we all should be doing more of.

I bet they've already forgotten it and moved onto the next thing to make them steamed up.
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@FreddieUK Woof! I hope so! Lol that makes me feel better lol

Archaeologists have been digging up bones for 150 years and not once have they found anything but TWO genders,
Male and Female,
Not once has a single sign of any of the 100 fantasy genders ever been excavated.
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@Iamnaked LOL!!!! I admit, this is the most creative answer i have heard yet.

If only gender were stored in the bones, that would be a fair answer, but they aren't.
Try to corner those people into a factual debate and they absolutely crumble. Then come the cries of fake news, whataboutism, idiotic memes and when all else fails, accusations of being a troll. Logic and facts mean nothing when you’re that brainwashed. As it’s been said, easier to fool people than to convince them that they’ve been fooled. This is their Titanic and they seem downright proud to go down with the ship.

@OlderSometimesWiser I will admit, it's always enlightening to hear how they view things. It shows how little they actually understand about what things are done in government and the narrative they are so eager to cling to. It's always good to know where their thoughts are to some extent.

I just didn't expect someone to react so...as if their life depended on me agreeing with their beliefs. Like, that's scary. And it makes me sad that my conversation got them there. I generally know my limits on what I can debate about before it gets personal. This person seemed to have none of those and just went rabid. I shouldn't be given that much importance lol

At any rate the post was more my rethinking the situation and just feeling horrified and sad. We should be working to find common ground, not become shrieking piles of nonsense.
@FoxyQueen Those are good points and on the internet it can be especially difficult to know where ignorance ends and mentally unbalanced begins.

Sorry, no sympathy for that hate
