Living with someone who has Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

My roommate is the most stubborn, argumentative, defiant person. If you tell him the sky is blue, he's gonna argue. If you ask him to do something he's either gonna fight you on it or just ignore you completely. I can't say things like, "Hey, hon, can you make sure the front door is closed while the AC is running?." without him making a speech about how he's grown and if he wants to leave the door open he will. 🙄

It's exhausting and it's making me feel like I don't have a voice. Can't move out, I can't afford to live alone. Phoenix is an expensive city. I don't know anyone who needs a roommate (although a friend at work just filed for divorce from her husband and will be living with just her son in her house... possibility of a potential roommate there, but I'm not gonna pursue that while the divorce is still fresh).

I'm stuck for now. I just needed to vent.

Omg, I can't stand people like this. It's like they can't ever agree with anything you say and always have to vocally put emphasis on how much they disagree with you.
