I deal with this all summer long, the doc diagnosed me with sweaty ball sack 🤬

Sounds like a sensory issue. When we itch we tend to feel it more in quieter times than in distraction like lectures, walking or talking. But before bed it might increase. It hasn't increased it just we feel it when least to zero distracted. Interestingly the more u scratch the itching gets at its worst. But if we leave it it gets worst then stops! Only takes 30 seconds when it realises it being ignored then itching stops. The more u forget the more chances it will go away, that feeling.

@Rob04 Kudos to you if you can ignore the sensory issues when focused on the lectures. 😅 Because the usual scenario is that you can't focus on the lecture because you are too occupied with sensory issues.

@CrazyMusicLover It is different then. I remember having uncomfortable clothing feel when I was a kid. The thought of putting them on after a shower was like 😵💫 I suppose this is why I prefer clothes one size up extra and must be 100% cotton than any other material.
I can't wear a lot of fabrics directly against my skin, particularly on my chest and back. Even the softest cotton to someone else can feel like loft insulation to me. This kind of sensory issue can go hand in hand with being on the autism spectrum.

My wife has days like this, so I can empathise. She's struggled with hyper-sensitivity since we were at school.

I struggle with this with shoes/boots that lace up. I feel like I am trapped if I think about it too hard and I can even start getting angry/hyperventilating.
It's a really awful feeling. I am sorry you are struggling with this today. Do you find it flares up if you're extra stressed etc?

@caccoon yes, stressed, overwhelmed, overstimulated. And usually sitting or lying down in complete darkness with nothing on calms me down, and I’m fine the next day. But not today.
I tried to put a closed toe flat on today and I only got it half way on before i ripped it off. I had to wear sandals

I’m like that with certain clothes. It’s why I’m so picky with what I wear. If I don’t wear something completely comfortable I can’t focus, can’t get anything done, and all my brain focuses on is how the clothes feel so alien against my skin, like it’s a separate entity.

I can understand this. I rarely have it happening, but I do.
These days I'm occupied with the ticks crawling upon me. Ew really.

Is this like a humidity level thing?
A mental thing?
i wish I could help, but I'm not sure what could help.

I get that way with long sleeve shirt. I hate the feel of the against my skin and drives me crazy, glad i dont have to worry about the bra issue.
Relatable... I don't wear shoes most of the time because I hate them squeezing my feet - and sweaty, wet socks.

Over the weekend I typically will only wear my brand new cotton bathrobe. It's nice and soft on my skin. I despise clothes but gotta dress when needed.

I feel it with hair when the air is too dry. I can't stand strands tickling me or feeling overgrown fringe on my face.
itsok · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover most of the time I don’t notice my hair, but other times it drives me crazy
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@itsok Same but I noticed that it's most likely to happen in winter when the heating is on and the air is dry. At those times I feel like I want to jump out of my skin.

Yeah I have similar sensory issues, even hate the feel of my toes touching when it gets bad.
NoxAeterna · 41-45, M
Sensory overload. Hope you can find something that will bring you a bit of calm today.
itsok · 31-35, F
@NoxAeterna thank you. I have another event tomorrow and I’m hoping it’s better by then
NoxAeterna · 41-45, M
@itsok I hope so too, wishing it for you.

I only wear clothes for three reasons,
To not get arrested,
To stay warm,
To not offended prudes.
I just went through a drive through and got a burger.
I had a small towel on my lap.
I have shorts a T-shirt and flip flops in the back seat. If I need to go in a store or something.
I hate clothes, always have.

What fabrics or materials seem to bother you most? Tight or loose fitting clothing?
