Nowhere in the world is “alot” considered the correct spelling 🤗😗 it is a phrase that consists of TWO SEPARATE WORDS A = the noun Lot = the article When you’re talking about an amount you need a noun and an article!!!!

I had a friend who taught English for a while and this was one of her pet peeves. She would go to one side of the board and write "a," then the other side of the board and write "lot," pointing out the space between.
