I know it’s super edgy but…

I really relax by watching gore. Even my therapist has said it’s a mental problem.
I think I’m just really desensitized to it because I remember my dad putting on gore movies and videos for me as young as 3. It was the norm for me to watch horror and gore movies with him as bonding.
I honestly thought it was normal and wasn’t a problem at all until I began asking people around me if it also relaxes them or if they began watching it that young ad well.
I don’t think it’s a problem right? I mean I come home from work, lie down in bed to go to sleep and I’m either watching shock videos or some documentaries about really gruesome murders.

Why would that be a problem? It's an advantage. If you ended up in a situation where someone after a horrible accident needed help, as a desensitized person, you might be much more apt to actually help them.

@CrazyMusicLover maybe, but not necessarily! It’s different seeing shit on a screen, opposed to being in front of someone who is horribly injured or dying

I’m speaking for myself though, you may be right in some people’s cases.

@WaryWitchWandering Yes, that's true. It might be different. I don't respond well to seeing that stuff even on screen, so I wouldn't know.
