"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3
I don't know about you, but I am always at my best, when I keep my mind on one thing. I can multitask, sure, but I do much better when I take one thing at a time, and this is really what Jesus urges us to do, in His Word. He doesn't want us to get anxious, and we won't be, if we focus on Jesus, instead of the storm.
There is never been one time in my 50 years of loving and serving my Savior, that when I kept my mind focused on Him and all the wonderful things He is, has done for us, and given us, that He has not failed to give me peace and joy.
Think about it. Can you be hateful and grateful at the same time? No. Whatever you allow in your mind at the time, is the mood it will set you in. Take a little test. Think of a beautiful setting and one in which you are loving and enjoying everything around you. Do that right now. Okay, were you upset at that time or anxious? No. You had your mind on the right thing. When we keep our focus on Jesus, it takes the stress of the day, right away. With practice, you can train your mind to stray away and avoid negative thoughts that Satan tries to put in our mind.
When Jesus was on top of the mountain and Satan was trying to tempt Him, Jesus didn't have to fight the devil. He cannot be tempted and He knew that there's nothing Satan could offer him. Jesus was telling us, we don't HAVE to fight the devil. That has to be done on a spiritual level, and all we have to do is resist temptation and turn away from it, doing the Lord's will, and Jesus will give us the strength to resist sin and temptation. However, you must have Jesus as your Savior, if you want to fight a spiritual battle. You can't do that all alone, but with the strength and help from the Holy Spirit, that is placed in you after you accept Jesus as your Savior, you most definitely can, by the power and blood of Jesus. He promised to give us the strength, and I can vouch for that, after all these years, that He does. What I do, is pray immediately when Satan has me so down, I don't know what to do, then willfully turn to God In Prayer and keep my mind stayed on Him and He helps me. I turned to the Word of God, as well, as it is my armor against Satan. The blood of Jesus is not watered down. It does have the power to release us from the grips of sin. But it must be done by the authority of Jesus.
Satan will not acknowledge us as Authority, but he will definitely always recognize and acknowledge the authority of Jesus and His powerful blood to save us. Even at the NAME of Jesus, Satan trembles. That's because he knows Jesus' power. The Bible says to rebuke Satan in the name of Jesus, and by His authority, and he HAS to flee from you. Not because of you....but because of JESUS and the power of HIS blood. The power of Jesus' blood, destroys sin and every attempt to sway us in the wrong direction.
Keep Your Eyes Upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face... And the cares on Earth, shall grow faintly dim, In the Light of His Glory and Grace! Amen!
Thanks Grace for wonderful write it has been a blessing to me. I'm fighting a battle and just to live everyday is a struggle for me, but you said trials are just temporary they are like message sent by God.
