If you were to find a wallet would you pocket the cash?

I found a wallet a few days ago. There was some cash in it, not much, however there was some. I dropped it off in their mailbox. Man, I wanted to take that cash so badly. I know it's wrong and Ive always prided myself on being someone who doesn't do that type of stuff.

I won't lie I did think about it and thought about doing a walk by type of check to see if it was still there. Internal struggles.

I found one once gassing up while on a trip right next to the pump . It had $1700 and a few credit cards and an uncashed paycheck for $1350. I got my assistant to call ( gave her the DL) and his father called me back . His son had dropped it and was panicking . He didn’t live far from the farm and came to us to get it . They were happy and tried to pay me . I refused and so I get a Christmas card each year from them

@TexChik That's pretty cool they still send a card. Made the right move for sure.

@NovaNine They could not believe anyone would return the wallet with all its contents intact.

@TexChik with those types of assets I'd be stunned too

@NovaNine yep I knew someone was sweating it.

@TexChik what made you go in the wallet and count the money? 🤔

@iamnikki So that the person claiming it would have one more burden of proof on the phone. Otherwise, I would mail it certified to the address on the driver's license.
