Don't ever ask for an apology
People who are actually sorry will just tell you genuinely. If you have to beg for someone to care then it's not worth your time and emotional energy.

I have never asked for an apology nor have I given one. Not since that episode of NCIS where Gibbs explains their a waste of time.

@Thevy29 I hear what you're saying but I honestly don't think that's a good hard and fast policy - it won't always work. The problem is that if you've hurt someone and you don't acknowledge it - thinking inside yourself that they will see you mean it in a few days or weeks or months - you're leaving a hurt sitting there. Inside them. Admitting you were wrong, acknowledging, is powerful if followed by actions.
It's not a dichotomy. I do both. I apologise and I show it by my actions.
