What's something you have a phobia of?
A phobia is an irrational fear. If you have an understandable fear of something dangerous, that's not the same thing. I'm talking about a paralyzing fear that goes well beyond the actual threat posed by the thing you fear.
I'll go first. I've had a fear of bees, ever since I was chased by a bumblebee when I was 5 years old. I've never been stung by a bumble, and I probably never will be, but bumbles like to chase you when they think they're being threatened, and they are big and loud and scary. And so for years afterward, when anything little, yellow, and buzzy was in my path, I would freak out. It's only been in the last 20 years that I've been able to calm my mind down. I now am capable of admiring honey bees, so long as they aren't circling my head. Yellow jackets and hornets still terrify me.
