I Have Random Thoughts

When a man really, really wants a woman, he's allowed to keep trying to talk her into giving him a chance. And she's supposed to be kind, give him a fair chance, etc. Even if (deep down inside) she's started to feel scolded and pressured and hassled.

But if a woman did that to a man, everybody would say she was too clingy and needy, and she should back off, not chase him, etc.

Why the double standard?

Sorry Kat, he is NOT allowed to "keep trying...". He is allowed to try twice, maybe three times if the woman is truly exceptional and losing her will have a serious negative impact on his world (ok, perhaps four times in your case) but that's it. Any more is creepy and he should be beaten with a stick.

The woman is not obligated to be kind or to give him a fair chance, though it's kind of nice if she does. If she's feeling "scolded and pressured and hassled", that's it. No more chances. He's not the guy and he needs to back off. Now. Or be beaten with a stick.

No double standard. You're just putting up with stuff you shouldn't put up with.

Should I back off now? Don't want you to feel pressured. ;-)
