I was in a relationship for almost 6 years and just got out of it about 3 months ago. I've never been single as an adult before and it's super weird and kind of lonely sometimes. I miss having someone to hang out with all the time, but at the same time, I think I need to be independent for a while.

When you find someone you do like a lot, dating them ruins it. Any person whose company you enjoy and who you care about, start dating them and you will immediately grow to hate them.

@LovelyGorilla: In a relationship, there's rules as to what you can do, who can know, and how well you can know them. There are limits set upon you and you must give up other people in your life and either break off friendships or water them down significantly in order to make your boyfriend/girlfriend the most important person in your life.

Relationships certainly take work, but they can be quite rewarding given you're with a good person. Yes, there are sacrifices, but the good often outweighs the bad. If it doesn't, then you're in the wrong relationship.
