DiMaggio 56 game hitting streak. I know it is a string of moments but to do this for 56 games is beyond incredible. Hitting a baseball is the singular most difficult act in sports. Getting a hit 1/3 of the time is considered excellent. If a doctor was successful 1/3 of the time….well you know.

So I give Joltin Joe the nod.

@Coldplay i would say, along with that season McGuire and Bonds went back and forth with homeruns, but that soured after everything came out with PEDs, what a shame, that was an electric summer

Can't forget about the amazing women athletes. The 1996 American Women's Gymnastic Team will always be such an inspirational group. I watched them for years as a teen and now they are all such amazing women doing remarkable things.

Probably the miracle on ice. The US played college kids, and the USSR played well-seasoned men. It never should have happened.

There have been many great sports moments but for me it would have to be a preteen memory. The Pirates Bill Mazeroski hitting a walk off home run to win the 60 World Series. I was just developing an interest in sports when it happened.
