We were always required to be barefoot for PE, which I really never liked. 🙁
Had trainers been an option, I'd certainly have wanted to wear them,
and probably have hidden out if I found myself without them.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@onewithshoes I used to lend bits of PE kit to the day girls at my school if they had left anything at home 🙂
Adec757 · 51-55, M
@onewithshoes was that in the UK?
QuietSophie · 26-30, F
We wore our school shoes to walk across to the gym. Took them off before we went in and did the lesson in bare feet.
Adec757 · 51-55, M
@QuietSophie we had to do indoor p e bare foot in secondary school anyway.
QuietSophie · 26-30, F
@Adec757 One less thing to forget
TechFan90 · 31-35, M
So you forgot your full PE uniform? Vest and knickers for you young lady!
lizzielost · F
Forgetting trainers was OK, we often had to work in bare feet anyway. Forgetting shorts or other items of kit was a bit more awkward 😬
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@lizzielost Thankfully I never forgot full kit, we'd have had to sit out as there were no spares. No spares of footwear didn't matter.
KatieJ · 22-25, F
@lizzielost Yes agreed
tallpowerhouseblonde · 36-40, F
Bare feet.I often walked around school barefooted anyway.
GentleLucille · 26-30, F
I knew a girl who slipped and broke her arm doing PE in socks 😥 If you've got no trainers, you should definitely work in bare feet.
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@GentleLucille I wouldn't have been allowed to do it in socks, and wouldn't have felt safe to do it that way anyway.
Ross19 · 31-35, M
@GentleLucille Our PE was always in bare feet. School rules.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Barefoot! No way I am missing PE just because I have no shoes!
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@GkB01 If we were doing indoor PE I usually didn't bother to bring them. Made my bag a lot lighter 🙂
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl Better to do it without, I kept mine for outside not doing PE indoors in plimsolls from about the age of 8.
Ross19 · 31-35, M
@SunshineGirl Same here! Well our kit required bare feet.

Barefooted is best but ain’t nobody trying to rock dirty soles. I’d keep avoidant of it.
KatieJ · 22-25, F
@SW-User Barefooted I'd always better and dirty soles well you shouldn't have forgot your trainers
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@KatieJ Bare feet and dirty soles and toes didn't bother me at all. much better than footwear.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
I'd do everything barefoot if I could.
GkB01 · 51-55, M
Always go barefoot, I think I deliberately 'forgot' trainers and plimsolls for PE inside from the age of 9. So much better without, much more fun.

Would love to hear anyones experiences
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@KatieJ Would be more than happy to share mine.
Adec757 · 51-55, M
@KatieJ I think many did indoor p e in bare feet anyway.
Adec757 · 51-55, M
Primary and middle schools were a choice of bare feet or plimsolls if it was non contact for indoor p e. Secondary was bare feet, that was it. I'm now teaching p e.
