Do you wonder about asking help from a Higher source?

I've asked God or the Higher source etc for help many many times over the years. Mainly I need help with this chronic PTSD which is severely limiting my life. But I wonder today, others have asked for help and they never got an answer and some even died in various situations. So if their prayers or wishes were not answered, how do I think mine would be or are more important? Do you wonder that sometimes?

All I can say to encourage you, is to repeat what my deity....... consciousness...... use any term you like, said to me when I wanted to sober up.
Wanting to sober up, but unable to, I cried out to every god with a name, and no help came. Finally I made a conscious decision to cry out the Abrahamic God with no name, just God. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that, that God spoke to me, or my heart, or any other religious mumbo jumbo. All I understood at that point was "I was born with everything I needed to beat my addiction," and so my journey to sobriety began.

I think my point here is, we shouldn't look to deities to cure us, but look to our deities for wisdom to find the cure for us ourselves. I know it can be a long and difficult task, but finding the right doctor, or group of doctors, can make all the difference in our health.

I intended this to be encouraging, and I hope you take it that way. 🤗

I think there's always an answer, but we don't always like the answer we get.
Some answers will not be answered in this lifetime.
It isn't a matter of God showering blessings on people all the time; the Bible says "Many are the afflictions of the righteous..." I guess ,it's a matter of trusting.
I think, I'm always helped, It is just that I don't always see it ,or feel it, or realize it especially in the moment.
When, I look back I can see more clearly.
I cannot say I always understand, but I know my trials have made me stronger, even the ones that crushed me, but it almost always takes some time to realize the growth.
I think it's impossible to understand when you're in a grief or struggling stage.

I look to myself. I know this sounds rough, but in my experience, help is not coming. If god is up there, it is not a parental figure. Nobody is coming to save us.

I work hard on myself and stay diligent.as I am able. If I need something I work for it, if I can't achieve it, I let it go. I am not a victim, but if god let the things happen to me that he did, I'd say know he was a man and as deadbeat as my own dad.

I still pray. I still want to be heard, but I it's like praying to myself. Promising myself to keep pushing towards being the healthy person I want to be.

@ScreamingFox your reflective reply made me remember once a line by Dr Dyer, a famous author. He said Any one of us can state, "I am God." He said it's in the Bible that (I believe it was?) Jesus said to friends and people , you can state that, because we all are One with God itself/himself. That stuck with me. But I typically have a depleted , scared, trauma mindset that overtook me , so I don't always remember to identify with being high, powerful etc. It's hard to truly incorporate it into life. But hey, it's better at this point than feeling like less than a piece of dirt..

It can be a slippery slope ,i hear people on this site saying they prayed and it was answered, so that brings up the question why them but not me? .For me that only adds another layer to the self loathing ,thinking it must be me or my fault that my prayers weren't answered.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@kodiac It's DEFINITELY not your fault they are not answered. 🌻
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@kodiac maybe they are just not, YET
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@kodiac I've had both answers to prayers that I've liked the outcome and those that I absolutely hated the outcome
I don't think people can understand God the way we understand human life.
But, the Bible says he has no favorites.
And the people who say they had a prayer answered the way they wanted may have had many prayers answered in a way they didn't want or they are not going to have them answered in this lifetime.

I believe that indirect messages and hints are sent as answers when needed. It will likely not be a direct answer to the prayer but something or someone else coming to answer to assist, bring strength, whatever is necessary. And when you least expect it. Sometimes, the answer we get is not expected. He knows what we need. 🤗

I believe that one has to be believing and they must be trusting in the actual God of all existence.. If a person has a twisted / false or even blasphemous idea of God then God granting them their request would act to solidify that false view of God in the mind of the one making the request.. So if God loves the person who is making the request then He would be reluctant to grant them their request..

The ultimate blessing of God is eternal life with Him in His perfect eternal existence,, One has to believe God to know God, otherwise that person is worshipping an Idol of their own imagination and will not be gifted that eternal blessing..
I have recently stumbled upon David Ghiyam, he's stupendous..

Look him up, he'll blow your socks off, he's wise and relatable

The kaballah
@AbsolutelyFabulous That's fine, I'm not policing the Kabbalah. I own a few Tarot card decks that are based on the Hollywood version. If it helps people, that's great.

I ask for God’s guidance, wisdom, and grace.

My PTSD gets raunchy at times too.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
He hears you. Don't stop talking to Him. But you will need quiet times to hear Him. 🙏
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@sarabee1995 Beautiful answer.
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
No.

Only humans or animals can help me.

I suppose plants can, too. A nice beam of wood. A nutritious carrot.

Or molds made into medicine!

No one and nothing can save you from yourself. Try meditation and letting go of your problems.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@hunkalove Well severe PTSD is something unfortunately you don't just casually let go of, or I would have 100 percent by now. It's seared and rooted in a person and it's painstaking to heal it. I won't stop though, and meditation might be a bit helpful , thanks🌼
