Is relying on God for guidance comforting?

On another social network site I am on a member's son went missing and eventually found. He had ended his own life.
There was an abundance of sympathy with many members invoking God in their condolences.
One in particular took my eye.
"Thank you Lord God for giving R** closure so the healing process can begin"
Is this comforting to the griever?

I don’t know. I meditated on the psalms for three years. It helped me how to pray.
Sometimes I just shout at God, asking why? Sometimes I bring people to him.
Sometimes I ask for forgiveness. Other times, I just rest in his goodness, mercy and grace.
