Is relying on God for guidance comforting?

On another social network site I am on a member's son went missing and eventually found. He had ended his own life.
There was an abundance of sympathy with many members invoking God in their condolences.
One in particular took my eye.
"Thank you Lord God for giving R** closure so the healing process can begin"
Is this comforting to the griever?

It's hard for me when your past was already hopeless and then you think of the future is hopeless as well. I have a hard time going through this.....

@FreestyleArt We have the opportunity to take control and dictate our future.
What I done in this situation was remove the negative influences surrounding me.
All those people who were keeping me in the doldrums, I removed. I took control and am a much better, happier person for having done this.
There is hope, when you take control.

@Gusman what future? When it's already been fucked for now....I rather wait for the Lord instead of Humans alone running this world. I hate that shlt. No matter what's going on who cares trying while I'm trying to live without any BS

@FreestyleArt While waiting would it be better to live the way you want to live? Doing things that give you a little happiness?
Ignore the negativity and concentrate on the good stuff going on around us. There is plenty of that, we just need to dig a little deeper.

@Gusman I've been doing that. I always seek happiness only myself I guess...it don't matter

@FreestyleArt You do matter. We all matter. Sometimes helping others gives great rewards as well.
A kind smile, a card sent to a friend, talking to a stranger on a park bench/train/bus.
These little kindnesses can improve our own happiness.
