The Book of Ecclesiastes

My favourite part of the Bible, because the author of it (believed to be none other than King Solomon himself) confronts some rather uncomfortable truths that most people would just rather ignore. Within the book he is honest, direct and not afraid to say what needs to be said, and it's unfortunate that most Christians tend to ignore this book entirely when forming their theology.

Actually, the book is attributed to King Solomon, but it was written by someone else. If I’m not mistaken the author’s pen name was Qohelet, and I think it even says in the first part of the text that it was written by him.

@JPWhoo I'm 99% sure that most of what Solomon is supposed to have written, he just collected.

@LordShadowfire Yeah. Most of the books of the Bible were not actually written by biblical characters. The most significant exception to that rule that comes to mind is, Paul actually did write about 2/3 of the letters attributed to him.

@JPWhoo Quoeleth means "the preacher", and that's what appears in some translations.
