the last straw for me was looking at the churches. they are supposed to represent what god is and yet there's child sexual assault, racism, homophobia, fear mongering and it's all covered up with a sense of high moral entitlement that is beyond sickening.

and i'm supposed to believe these people when they tell me about things like god, how to live my life and be a good person? nope.

@bugeye People are fallible. On that, all faiths are clear.

Scandal plagues several churches, that's true, but the same unspeakable wrongs can be found within sports clubs, children's organizations, the girl scouts and boy scouts, and even in schools. Most frequently and with the greatest intensity, it's found in families.

@Graylight boy scouts and sports clubs don't claim to represent god nor preach morals. and when they are found there they end up in jail, not moved to another sports club out of the jurisdiction of the law of the last one.

@bugeye Actually, they do, though too much lesser extent. And all kinds of organizations and institutions have suppressed and facilitated behavior like this. Don't fool yourself.
