Trying to believe in God, but cannot

Why he let evil people get away?
Like forreal. I'm so angry at him. Have every right to be angry. When a jerk almost killed me and took nudes of me, but walking his life free like why

People make the mistake or equating a "God" with never having to suffer consequences, never being hurt, never feeling pain.

Maybe you can think of "God" or the Universe as a great river with a "flow." Follow that flow and the consequences learned will be fewer. Acquiesce and be carried around many impediments along the way. But this doesn't mean the water doesn't get swift, it doesn't mean there aren't hazards and it doesn't mean you can't fight the current any time you like.

We interpret so much in this life and injustice and unnecessary. Pain is not a punishment; death is not a penalty, trial and loss aren't reserved for the wicked or weak. Pain teaches how to learn and how to appreciate pleasure; death is the inevitable conclusion to what may simply be a distraction to our whole selves, a board game of sorts; trial and loss are is unavoidable if love, appreciation and respect for life are to be fostered.

We're not punished any more than the child who touches the hot stove out of curiosity is "punished" with a burn. Life is hard and it's full of rip-roarin' adventure, but that's why we were given the bodies, minds, souls and love of others to get through.

@Graylight Okay, so let's talk about fibro dysplasia ossificans progressiva (human statue disease). It's a disease in which the body replaces damaged tissue, not with the same tissue, but with bone. Every single time. Banged your elbow on the table and got a bruise? Muscle is replaced with bone. Had to have your appendix out? The surgical site heals over with bone. This leads to the victim being unable to move at all. Doctors can't even remove the bone, because the body replaces whatever they remove with more bone. The worst part is, it's not technically a fatal disease. You can live for years like this with proper care.

Please tell me how people who suffer from that are being taught to enjoy pleasure.

@LordShadowfire And here's where the scope of a discussion like this threatens to overwhelm the platform on which it's being discussed.

There's no way to understand what lessons and experiences we consented to before we ever got here. Some views hold that the very point of the human soul is (at least in part) to experience fully everything possible here in an ever-generating exercise in divine creativity. Painting with only one brush and color creates a saturated canvas devoid of meaning.

But that's just one belief.
