I don't believe in a God that rains down hell fire from the sky because someone got their cousin pregnant, but I do have a very strong faith that there is a creator of this universe even if Man wasn't created in its image. Whenever I meditate on this presence I can feel it.

@Lostpoet I like your angle on the question. I personally don't believe in certainty or faith but I do know this sensation of oneness that comes from meditation but I don't consider any human experience to be a valid source of information about god. like Aleister Crowley said " you do certain things and certain results happen and the student is warned against attributing objective reality to these experiences". in advaita vedanta they say that any idea that we might have about god should automatically be discarded because if such a thing exist our mind is not equiped to create a model of it that could do it justice, for this reason I consider anything written about god to be blasphemy. lets just leave it at " this is beyond what my simple mind can imagine".

@reflectingmonkey I totally agree and your explanation is far more intellectual than mine.

@Lostpoet I hope i didn't come off as a smart ass, it wasnt my intention, the meaning of life is a question that has kept my mind busy all my life. but all the words become meaningless when you sit and feel one with everything.

@Lostpoet I feel the same. Everything is way too complex for our feeble minds to understand creation, the universe, life, etc... complexity is a word that should be written with a capital C when it comes to God. There has to be an entity, a creative mind of the highest description to do all these things that we know and yet, to be discovered. Will we ever see it or understand it? I believe we live to find the answer when we die. All will be revealed then.
