why does god feel distant from me, how can i stengthen my faith

at this time in my life i really need god, i am a roman catholic christian, and have had a difficult life...i live alone and have no support system apart from my mum and dad who are elderly...when i try to talk to god in my own words, and say prayers or think about god...god feels distant from me, like he's not there....and i know this must mean i have a weak faith...but i need gods guidence a great deal right now.

why is god not answering me it feels? what would you think?

And don't forget. Sometimes the answer to our prayers linger, because God is getting things ready and in place on the other end, by either working with other people, or getting things lined up, and sometimes His answer has to be no, in order to actually protect us from something that we could not have seen that may have put us in danger, so just trust Him. He always has your best interest at heart. Sometimes His answer may be slow, but God always answers. You may rest assured of that.
