Yeah, they probably won't idolize pedophilia as much.
@IvanKaramazov: I could be wrong, but I never thought enforced celibacy led to pedophilia. I figured something was wrong with those priests to begin with.
I don't know what the relation between celibacy and child molestation is, but there seems to be something going on these days.
@IvanKaramazov: It just seems illogical that children would ever be a sexual option to an adult who wasn't a sexual predator anyway---celibate or not.
Strange, unnatural conditions make people do strange, unnatural things. Lots of men in prison aren't gay or even normally disposed to rape, and yet prison rape is commonplace. Between the vulnerability of children and the willingness of the Catholic Church to protect its own, there's a certain climate of permissiveness and possibility. You don't have to pay for prostitutes, and you don't have to run the risk of getting rejected by some woman in your congregation and have rumors get around that you're not living by the rules.
