The reality is that, there is no such thing as "proof",but hard evidence is as good as it gets, and when it comes to a so called "God', there is absolutely no hard evidence.

Well he is all powerful but for some reason he can't help anything bad that happens but he needs our money. The devil on the other hand never asked for a penny.
@Celine: Sorry that was long. My point was this. If you love someone, the best way to see if they really love you, is to give them the choice of freedom. If they come to you freely, because of the love in their heart for you, you'll know they really love you, and didn't come to you because they were forced. God didn't want robots, with no feelings, so he gave us choice.

No because we don't know the circumstances

@Celine: You are the most insecure person I've ever seen. Twisting things around all time. You're delusional and arrogant as GreatLakesGuy said. He wouldn't have said it if he didn't mean it. Bye now.

No. There are so many reasons and scenarios to this. It could be anything. Life and hope are found in God for those who seek him. Some, simply do not know him, then blame him for everything.
Suicide usually requires some degree of pre-meditation. Death from exhaustion or disease, nervous breakdowns, and circumstantially-induced psychotic episodes are stronger counter-arguments to that nonsense claim.
no because suicide is a choice made when we tell ourselves that we are too weak to handle life.

"They say" is the key. It's not what the Bible actually says.

And thus begin the "technicality arguments".

Someone could claim that the person commiting suicide could theoretically handle it, but just didn't.

@Celine: Yeah, but considering the entire argument for religion is not being able to disprove it, it's not an infeasible argument to hear.

I mean, I agree with you, but playing devil's advocate can be helpful sometimes. We always have to challenge our own ideas and perceptions so we can evolve as people.
That is just dumb speak for "we have no answers for you so therefore god".
Nope. Just because you are capable of handling it, does not mean you think that you can or want to. It's also called free will.
No. You assume the final answer is suicide. Suicide is failure. The existence of it proves free will.

I know some will point out its not the same as terminal illness and "death with dignity".

Yes, suicide is a choice, but it is not the answer. Whether you realize it or not, God has a plan for your life. He did not give you life, for you to kill yourself. When you've reached rock bottom, there's only one place to look, and that is UP. And when you do, Jesus will be waiting for you, to comfort you and wrap you in His loving arms, where He's been waiting all the time. He invites you to a brand new life in Him.

"Come unto Me all who are weary and heavy-hearted, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 And He did. 😊 He'll do the same for you. He holds no one above the other.
@Celine:
Suicide is giving up on life. Comparing the physical life pain to the pleasureable afterlife is null. Many say they rather feel pain & pleasure than nothing at all. They say if you commit it, you'll reincarnate back into that situation so that you are able to pull through it. It evolves your soul.

that statement predicates on the need for a god to give you anything, I think that humans are autonomous creatures who get what they have in response to their behaviors and circumstances.

as far as coping mechanisms, those are also learned through prior behaviors and circumstances.
fddlpej · 61-69, M
Grace I don't believe that because that is excepting that we all start out as equal. You and I both know that we all do not start life the same. We all have different strength and weaknesses. In everything that we do.

Good observation...I agree.

"they" say a lot of things, and most of what they say is just rhetoric, propaganda, and other BS, just to make sure the common man grinds the wheel daily. Don't buy into the cliches' Make up your own mind about life.

Maybe because even if there is a God much of what people know about it is written by people. People tend to bend and twist things both intentionally and unintentionally

I'm pretty sure religion is dying. I see more and more kids leaving the religion their parents had.
