The more I learn about christianity the less I like it. How did you know that christianity is the right religion for you?

The more I learn about the christian beliefs the less I am interested in it. I grew up where my dad was atheist and still is and my mom a mixture of hinduism and Buddhism. I like hinduism, there is a lot less shaming of humanity in that religion then in christianity. I think even my grandparents were not religious. Some people have this feeling or calling that draws them to a religion. My friends are all different religions one is christian one is muslim and two are athiest. during childhood i only had two girls I was friends with one was mormon one was quaker. There are very many things I agree with in christianity however there are many things I disagree. I think that the things I disagree on would make it so my beliefs dont qualify me to be a Christian i think people believe in what their parents believed in and they do not question what religion is best for them, i feel like I dont really fit into any religion.

You don't have to believe everything whatever religion says. I don't. You don't even have to follow any religion at all. At the bottom they are all the same.
Go to wherever makes you feel peace inside.

Yea i guess this whole post started because it feels like everyone who is religoios is trying to convert me to their religion. Because they are telling me what i should do like talk to god🙄. I just hate that they only do it because im not religios if i was buddist they would leave me alone, people dont try to convert people who already have a religion just ones that dont.

Yeah that can be pretty annoying. I go to a church because I like the people and it gives me peace. But I don't believe dude walked on water or that they put all those animals in a boat.
It's your business, the same way you don't tell them what yo believe they shouldn't pressure you into their beliefs.
That would just piss me off.
Here is my challenge. Name one ethical statement made, or one ethical action performed, by a believer that could not have been uttered or done by a nonbeliever. And here is my second challenge. Can any reader think of a wicked statement made, or an evil action performed, precisely because of religious faith? The second question is easy to answer, is it not? The first - I have been asking it for some time - awaits a convincing reply. By what right, then, do the faithful assume this irritating mantle of righteousness? They have as much to apologize for as to explain.

The first question.
There's none.
The second. There are many.
About the righteousness point.
There's really no right to assume that kind of righteousness from the believer.

But I'll take it a step further.

By what right then, do the non believer assume this irritating mantle of righteousness?

Religion is an infection. You don't need all this fairy tale nonsense to live a good life.
@BlueVeins totally agree i guess I live in a heavy religious area, it is very very rural farm land everywhere.

these kinds of believers are called legalist. think they know it all and only they have right set of beliefs. its simple actually, be kind to everyone. they may not accept a helping hand, but i have tried.

Most probably the things you heard about Christianity are human interpretations taught by organized religion. You can strip all of that back. If you believe that Jesus is God and that he died on the cross for your sin so that you can have a personal relationship with him then you are a Christian. None of the other stuff is important in terms of salvation.
God is a gentleman he doesnt make u follow him. If u dont want to hes cool with it the choice is all yours.

Shame acts to discourage one from repeating evil actions they have committed in the past..

So shame is a force for good.. You hate a force for good.. That's pride rearing it's ugly head..
