I walked. . . 45 miles in the dead of night in the middle of winter wearing only shorts and a sweatshirt; to my place of "worship" in the woods (adirondacks means "bark eater" to my native American ancestors). It was where i felt most comfortable. I made an offering to my understanding of "Our great creator"(mother earth). Burning incense and kneeling while offering myself as tribute. Is that a "pilgrimage"?

I have always wondered about people who go on those find yourself pilgrimage trips. I'm like wtf. How bad can your life be when you have the money and the energy to go on an trip across Australia to go find yourself.
The only pilgrimage I do is after work. One trip to the fridge and one trip to the shower.
Anyway didn't mean to poo poo on your post, I'm sure there's something I'm missing. It's always been a bit self serving to me. But hey. I don't know anything.

Yes, it was with my parents once to Lourdes and then alone to Iona. Sometimes I come across similar sort of travel experiences just by looking around

A personal one, yes. There were certain places that I felt I must visit.
Not a religious one. But yes.
